Hi there, I'm Jessica!
Hi, I'm Jessica Lauro. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Touro University, Los Alamitos. I have deep care and passion for supporting my clients as they persevere through vulnerable experiences and navigate healthy paths toward their personal therapeutic goals. My specialty includes interpersonal relationship issues within all realms of connections, from the relationships clients have with themselves to those with everyone in their lives. I am versed in helping clients create and uphold meaningful, trusting foundations in their relationships through individual, couple, and family therapy.
My approach
My approach to therapy is experiential and client-centered. I uphold unconditional positive regard for my clients and show up with empathy, compassion, openness, and support. I don't see myself as an expert who knows what is best, but as someone who collaborates with clients. Together, we find the path they want and need for treatment that helps them heal, create self-actualization, and trust in their ability to support their happiness and security.
My focus
I use individual, couples, and family therapy to help adults manage and reduce issues and symptoms from anxiety, depression, mood disorders, OCD, ADD, ADHD, interpersonal relationship issues, stress, self-esteem/confidence issues, grief, and trauma.
My communication style
As a client-centered therapist, I take an active listening stance without pressuring clients to share or explore anything unwanted. I encourage clients to pursue difficult topics only if necessary for their goals and always at their flexible pace.
