Getting to know Jessie Nolasco-Sandino

Hi, I’m Jessie. I believe that a strong, genuine connection is at the heart of meaningful therapy. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and comfortable being yourself without judgment. I see you as the expert in your own life. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, and build on your strengths to help you better understand what you’re going through and move toward your goals. I take a collaborative approach, which means we’ll work together in a way that fits your unique needs and feels right for you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with teens (15+) and adults who may be dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, family conflict, relationship challenges, grief and loss, self-esteem concerns, and work-life balance. I use a trauma-informed approach, meaning I’m mindful of how past experiences can affect your emotional and physical well-being, and I focus on creating a safe, supportive environment for healing. I also incorporate self-compassion strategies to help you build a kinder, more understanding relationship with yourself.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and International Studies from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. I’ve worked with youth and adults in underserved communities and have experience supporting people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. As a BIPOC clinician, I value cultural awareness and strive to provide care that is inclusive and respectful of each person’s identity and experiences.
