Getting to know Jillian Adler

Born and raised in New York City, I am no stranger to the pressures of life here. Whether that is the need to achieve, wanting to look a certain way, constant comparison, or struggling to find community, it can be exhausting. I help clients learn how to quiet outside noise, self-criticism, and self-doubt. In the therapy room, I will help my clients work on identifying their own goals through constant collaboration. My style will always be open, non-judgemental and human.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I received my B.A. in psychology from George Washington University and master’s in social work from New York University. I strive to constantly be learning and growing in my therapeutic style and work. This is evident through my extensive post-graduate training. I received a certificate in the psychodynamic treatment of eating disorders from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy in 2023 and a certificate in couples therapy from the Ackerman Institute for Families in 2026.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

A typical session with me will focus on developing a treatment plan based on your own goals. In the therapy room, we might learn skills, process difficult emotions, learn to connect our emotional and logical mind, and/or begin to unpack some of our survival strategies. With all that, the therapeutic relationship and feelings of connection and comfort will always remain the priority.
