Getting to know Jingyi Mou

Welcome — I’m Ursa, a bilingual psychotherapist. I help people who feel overwhelmed, lost, or disconnected find clarity, peace, and a deeper sense of self. My work offers a warm, grounded space for real healing and growth. Having lived between China and the U.S., I understand what it’s like to move between worlds. I work closely with clients navigating the space between cultures, identities, and expectations. I’m especially committed to helping women reconnect with their voice, confidence, and sense of self-worth — while honoring how culture and systems shape those experiences.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients describe me as warm, open-minded, and deeply curious and, and I strive to make our work feel like co-authoring a story — one where your voice grows stronger with every page. I listen closely and help you uncover what lies beneath the surface — the feelings, stories, and needs that may have been hard to name. Our sessions are calm, compassionate, and real. This is a space where your story can finally be heard and understood. Therapy with me is both grounded and real — a space where boundaries create safety, and humanity creates healing. I approach therapy as a collaborative process — grounded in clear structure, yet guided by shared curiosity and mutual respect. Healing unfolds not from authority, but from connection. We can laugh, breathe, and enjoy progress as it happens; healing doesn't always have to be a sudden wake-up call.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

So often, life teaches us to keep moving, to meet expectations, and to fit into roles that don’t always feel like our own. Over time, we can lose touch with our needs, our voice, and the parts of ourselves that once felt alive. Therapy, to me, is a space to pause — to understand where those patterns came from and to begin creating a life that feels more authentic and less performative. Our work usually begins with your story: how your experiences have shaped who you are and how you relate to the world. In our first sessions, we take time to slow down and get to know what’s been feeling heavy, confusing, or stuck. As we move forward, we’ll explore both inner and outer influences — your history, relationships, and the cultural systems that have shaped how you see yourself. My approach is integrative and relational, drawing from psychoanalytic insight, mindfulness, and evidence-based practices such as CBT. I also bring in grounding and reflection practices to help you stay connected to your body and emotions. Therapy with me is structured but flexible; we’ll track growth not only through goals or symptom relief, but also by noticing subtle shifts — how you speak to yourself, how you breathe, how you show up in your life with more clarity and ease.

Great experience with Jingyi. She’s friendly, thoughtful, and explains things in a way that makes sense. I never felt rushed and walked out with a solid next-step plan. Quick check-in, smooth visit. Would absolutely come back.
Ursa is super nice and professional — she’s got this calm patience but also a cute sense of humor that made me feel totally at ease. We talked about my self-worth doubts and I honestly felt lighter after just one session. Definitely booking again!!!!!!!!
Of the sessions, I’ve had with Jingyi she was very professional and showed some compassion for her profession. To say the past 12 months was difficult is an understatement, but Jingyi really helped me self-reflected with good thought provoking questions to learn more about myself. Bonus points that sometimes I see her cute pets pop up on the call too. I appreciate the help she has provided and her ability to empathize while showing me see more perspectives.
Of the sessions I had with Jingyi, she was so professional and really helped in the discovery of myself and the innerwork I needed to do to heal. She speaks with great empathy and always tries to share relating stories to the situation I’m detailing at hand to help me see different perspectives. To say the past year was a difficult is an understatement from breakup to parent having major heart attack etc, Jingyi really listened and helped me speak my feelings wholeheartedly. I can see the passion Jingyi has for her profession and I’m glad I chose her to have sessions with. I do like thought provoking questions as it drives my thought process to finding myself.
