Hello, I'm Joni. Throughout my life, I've embraced various roles, from programmer to stay-at-home mom, and now, to a career I truly love. With three adult children and a grandchild who is the light of our lives, I've gathered a wealth of experiences that shape my approach to therapy. My nine years working in a high school have given me a deep appreciation for teenagers and adolescents, understanding their unique challenges and perspectives that others might sometimes miss. I am passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community, inspired in part by my transgender daughter. To ensure I provide the best support, I've attended additional workshops to be competent and sensitive to the needs of this community. My professional journey has also led me to specialize in addiction, and I am proud to be a Level III Certified Addiction Counselor. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I offer a comprehensive approach to therapy. My specialties include addiction, ADHD, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anxiety, depression, family relationships, gender identity, intimate/romantic relationships, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, PTSD, sex/intimacy issues, stress, suicidal ideation and/or self-harming, and trauma. I also provide SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer or require remote sessions. When you work with me, you can expect a compassionate, understanding, and non-judgmental space where we can explore your challenges and work towards your goals together. I believe in the power of connection and the importance of feeling heard and valued in therapy. To help you decide if we are a good match, I offer a mini meet-and-greet session. I look forward to meeting you and embarking on this journey together. Let's work towards a healthier, more fulfilling life.
