Getting to know Joel Burnett

Everybody gets stressed or overwhelmed from time to time. I am here to help. I am open to working with all sorts of people including various sexual orientations, genders, ethnicities and races. I am a fully Licensed Professional Counselor, with seven years of experience. I have specialized training in trauma and I have my CCTP (Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I have studied EMDR, DBT, CBT, ACT, MI, the Strengthening Families Program and I am Internal Family Systems informed. I treat trauma, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, chronic pain, and many other things. You have taken the first step in healing; let me guide you in taking the next step.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am open, warm and accepting of all types of people. I have my Certified Clinical Trauma Professional certificate and specialize in EMDR and IFS informed with trainings in each and trainings that combine both EMDR and IFS. I can also help with many other issues like anxiety and depression.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I work with the client to make their own goals. Each session we work hard on reaching these goals. I also use and teach mindfulness to help clients relax and cope.
