Getting to know Joseph Eader
Hello, I'm Joe Eader. I have dedicated my career to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and find meaningful solutions. I hold a Master of Science (MS) degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from EU and have specialized training in cognitive processing therapy (CPT-C) trauma-focused care from Duke University School of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, under the guidance of Dr. Patricia Resick. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina and Virginia, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Clinician (LCMHC) in North Carolina, and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
Throughout my professional journey, I have had the privilege of working in various roles, including as a School Psychologist/Psychometrist, Child Therapist, and School-Based Clinical Provider. My experience extends to working with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health and serving as a general counselor and Clinical Specialist with the United States Marine Corps. Currently, I am the Command Deployed Resiliency Counselor on the USS John F. Kennedy, the Navy's newest aircraft carrier. Before this, I was the first Deployed Resiliency Counselor for the USS Kearsarge, completing a 4-year tour with three deployments, including two combat and one humanitarian mission.
I specialize in treating trauma-related experiences, domestic violence rehabilitation, cognitive behavioral therapy, grief and loss therapy, and cognitive processing therapy. My expertise also includes addressing anxiety, mood-related disorders, adjustment disorders, and situational stressors. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my clients grow, develop new skills, and improve their relationships with themselves and others. It's incredibly rewarding to witness them overcome obstacles and find ways to manage stressful events.
Outside of my professional life, I cherish spending quality time with my family.
