Getting to know Joseph Iovino

Hey! I'm Joseph! I have been a mental health and addictions counselor for a little over 3 years now. Before that, I spent 4 years as a music therapist working with children and adults of all abilities. I am often told by my clients that I have a strength in creating a safe and welcoming space for them. A space free of judgement, and supportive of all walks in life. As a counselor, I am very grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside my clients in their journey. I have learned so much from all of the people I have had the pleasure of working with. I really honor when my clients are willing to open up, be vulnerable, and allow me to present with them in their lives. The key to a successful experience in counseling is a strong therapeutic relationship. This involves building rapport, trust, and understanding. This is a focus and priority in my practice. I have had the opportunity to live across the US, originating from New Jersey, and living in Seattle, Nashville, and Louisville. However, I have spent the majority of my life in Colorado Springs. I love to spend time with my family and our dog, Ned, and cat, Homer. Outside of work, I spend most of my time playing guitar, riding bicycles, motorcycles, and dirt bikes. Music is my biggest passion and I am thankful for the opportunities that music has given me. I would love to talk about what music means to you and how it plays a role in your life.
