I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals diagnosed with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and more than 10 years of experience supporting those experiencing an acute crisis, drawing from various theoretical approaches to maximize service facilitation. I hold a Bachelor's degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, a Master's in Social Work from Radford University, and a Master's in Aging and Health from Georgetown University. I believe in the importance of rapport building and the relational aspects of treatment, meeting individuals where they are, allowing them to guide the work, and maintaining a person-centered, strengths-based approach. My practice incorporates several perspectives, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Systems Theory, Acute Crisis Response, Trauma-Informed Care, and Motivational Interviewing.
