Psychotherapist
1430 Broadway, Ste 1510, New York, NY
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a focus on neuropsychological assessment of adults (18+) as well as older adults (65+). My clinical training is primarily in academic medical settings where I worked with individuals with complex, often interacting, medical and psychiatric concerns. I am delighted to bring my skills to the outpatient setting at Bryant West Psychology. I specialize in doing the following types of assessment: Acquired Brain Injury, including Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) / Concussions Adult Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Neurodegenerative Diseases, Dementia, and Cognitive Decline in Older Adults Identifying Treatable and Reversible Cognitive Decline (e.g., cognitive impairment due to medical conditions, metabolic disorders, cognitive effects of PTSD and depression) Pre-operative assessment for transgender and gender diverse patients My goal is for you to leave the assessment with answers and clear next steps. My assessment work is evidence-based, and I aim to provide clients and other providers clinical clarification and treatment directions in a comprehensive and comprehendible written report, as well as verbally in a post-assessment feedback session. The assessment process is designed to clarify questions regarding symptom diagnosis and etiology, likely disease course, as well as appropriate interventions, guidance as to available supportive treatments and resources in the community. While a comprehensive assessment is warranted for many purposes (e.g., academic testing), I will ensure that I tailor my assessment to your needs -an abbreviated assessment or initial consultation may be an option for more straightforward diagnostic questions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My passion lies in working with a diverse patient population and providing affirmative care to all individuals, especially those from marginalized backgrounds. As such, I also provide preoperative assessments for gender affirmative care (on a sliding scale basis), as well as consultation and annual training to other (neuro)psychologists regarding normative data selection and affirmative neuropsychological assessment with trans and gender expansive people. I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and completed my Internship in Neuropsychology at James J. Peters VA Medical Center in the Bronx. I attended Fellowship in Geropsychology was at the Brooklyn VA Medical Center. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with questions on how I might help you with your assessment needs. I look forward to working with you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

For pre-operative assessments and consultations, we will plan a single meeting. For neuropsychological evaluations, an initial interview (1 hour) will be followed by testing, which can be conducted same day, or at a later date. I will request any available medical records in advance of meeting. Following testing, a feedback session will be scheduled to review your results and discuss recommendations for treatment. A letter or report will be made available containing all results and recommendations.

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $350 for 55 minutes
Ongoing session: $350 for 55 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

More information on payments and coverage

Bryant West Psychology works with most insurance plans to make the financials easy, hassle-free, and paper-work-free for you. We can bill your insurance for you, and you can pay us any deductibles and co-pays by credit card or through Zelle, as well as the old-fashioned ways, such as check or cash. Most of our assessment services are out-of-network due to the very low reimbursement levels provided by insurance and the expertise and time required for professional testing services. We bill all insurance companies, including United Health Care, Aetna, Oxford, Cigna, Blue Cross/Shield, and Beacon (to name a few). Depending on your plan, your insurance may pay up to 80% of our fee (and sometimes more). We will do our best to work with you to make payment arrangements that won't break the bank—that is, your bank.
