Psychotherapist

Hi, I’m Jovonna. I’m a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Behavioral Specialist with more than a decade of experience supporting youth, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate trauma, identity exploration, life transitions, and emotional or behavioral challenges. My passion is helping young people feel heard, understood, and empowered, especially those from marginalized, underserved, and diverse communities. Much of my clinical work has involved supporting young people and their families through co-occurring mental health diagnoses and high-acuity concerns, including suicidality, self-harm, and post-crisis stabilization. My years providing acute and post-crisis services in hospital and community settings have strengthened my commitment to offering compassionate, evidence-based, and culturally grounded care during some of the most vulnerable moments in a young person’s life. Therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and authentic. My holistic and naturalistic approach blends evidence-based practices such as CBT, TF-CBT, EMDR, MI, DBT-informed care, and Positive Behavioral Support with relational, experiential, and psychodynamic principles. In simple terms, I meet young people and their families exactly where they are, and together we explore what they need emotionally, mentally, and systemically so that true healing and growth can take place.
