NOW ACCEPTING CLIENTS! Private Pay and Insurance accepted. I'm glad you're here! Whether you're continuing your therapy journey or starting for the first time, I would love to accompany you in the process of healing and growth. Therapy might be intimidating to start, but I like to make the process as easy and comfortable as possible for you. With my client-centered approach, I want to focus on what you want to talk about. It could be a recent relationship that is causing you stress or anxiety, sexual identity questions, a past traumatic experience that is affecting your present life, or maybe you just need someone to talk to. I would be honored to be a listening ear to provide empathy and feedback from wherever you're coming from. At Roots Therapy, I accompany you on a journey of self-exploration and self-love through mind and body awareness practices. I grew up in Tennessee, where I developed my passion for the outdoors and psychology. I earned a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, majoring in Dietetics and minoring in International Agriculture and Natural Resources. Later, I moved to Denver and earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary in Littleton. In the future, I will be opening a therapeutic farm that integrates my love of mindfulness, plants, and the outdoors. In my spare time, I’m running the trails in Colorado, climbing rocks, and attempting to grow vegetables.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I enjoy accompanying clients as they journey through life. We can talk through existential anxieties or the everyday stresses. I use an Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach that allows you to explore different parts of yourself so that you can feel more holistically cared for and integrated to discover your true Self. IFS helps you to see different parts of yourself and how all these parts are necessary and beneficial to your whole internal system. We will work together to hear the stories of these different parts of you and allow your internal system to experience less distress and more peace by balancing and harmonizing your internal world. I am trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is helpful for treating trauma symptoms and allows you to reprocess these traumatic memories in a way that can provide hope for your future. It can be used with complex trauma, a singular traumatic event, or everyday life stressors. EMDR is a powerful therapy that allows you to be more present in your daily life and be hopeful of creating a future that you want. I also enjoy working with pre-marital or pre-cohabiting couples as well as couples going through relationship conflict. I like to explore relationship patterns and attachment so that partners can be more compassionate and aware of their partner's need.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I use a very free-flowing approach to therapy that gives clients space. Often times we all just need space to process and ask questions in order to get to know ourselves better. I provide a compassionate space for you to do this while exploring questions. I want to know your goals or desires for the therapy process so that we can create a unique space that gives you what you need.
