Julia Lesh, LMSW

Psychotherapist
138 W 25th St, Ste B4, New York, NY
In my practice, I place a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, creating a safe and supportive environment. I believe that humans are inherently social creatures, and that our sense of self is shaped by our interactions with others. With warmth and curiosity, we will explore your feelings, your relationships, your past, and what's happening in the here and now. I currently specialize in helping teens, adults, and couples improve their relationships and feel more connected with their daily life. I have particular expertise in working with disordered eating, polyamory/non-monogamy, LGBTQIA+ folks, and assisting parents in helping a child explore gender identity. My work is based on relational psychodynamic psychotherapy, but incorporates IFS, DBT, and motivational interviewing. I received my undergraduate and graduate degrees from Middlebury College and New York University, and I have received post-graduate training from the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis & Psychology. My style is open, affirming, and challenging. In our work, whatever you're navigating, I will accept you on your terms.
