Julie Kash, LCSW

Julie Kash, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I am most passionate about working with those who feel uneasy about their relationship dynamics and want to move toward creating healthy relationships. I also enjoy supporting individuals going through major life transitions, who are grappling with the normal questions of ?what parts of myself am I leaving behind?? and ?how do I know I'm on the right track?? Together, we can explore your relationship patterns and help you gain a greater sense of autonomy. Seeking help is hard-it's amazing you're here. I believe the most important part of therapy is building a strong foundation between therapist and client, and I'm committed to creating that with you. I hold a Master's in Social Work from New York University, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support you effectively. Please don't hesitate to reach out so we can discuss the potential for working together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You will be in the driver's seat. While I am here to make sure the therapeutic space feels as safe as possible, your process will determine the goals and pace. We may discuss tools to cope with immediate distress, but the majority of the work will revolve around what you share and the meaning we make from it.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At first while we are getting to know each other, I may ask more direct questions to learn about your history and try to understand the issues you are facing fully. The goal is to move toward you freely sharing what comes to mind and starting to make connections between past and current patterns, with gentle guidance from me as needed. I practice frequently checking in about how therapy is going for you so we can be as effective as possible.
