Getting to know Katarina Bennicoff Yundt
I believe therapy is a place where you should be able to show up as your whole self: not just the capable, successful, or put-together parts of you, but also the parts that feel overwhelmed, uncertain, or exhausted. As a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, I’m passionate about helping people understand themselves with more compassion and move toward a deeper connection with who they are.
Many of the clients I work with appear to have it all together on the outside. They are the dependable ones, the high achievers, and the people others turn to when things get difficult. But underneath the surface, they may feel weighed down by expectations, responsibilities, and patterns that developed from needing to be strong for too long.
Maybe you were called “mature for your age,” an “old soul,” or the gifted kid who learned that achievement, self-sufficiency, and being easy to love were connected to your sense of worth. These adaptations may have helped you succeed, but they can also leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, stuck in cycles of perfectionism, people pleasing, anxiety, burnout, overthinking, or difficulty knowing what you truly need.
I believe healing is not about fixing something that is broken. It is about understanding the parts of yourself that adapted to survive and creating space for growth, self-trust, and a more authentic way of being.
What should a new client know about working with you?
As a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, I offer a warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed space where you do not have to perform, explain, or have everything figured out. I work with adults navigating complex trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, neurodivergence, identity exploration, and the lasting impact of being the person who has always held it together.
My approach bridges traditional talk therapy with somatic, experiential, and creative approaches. While insight and understanding are important, many of us already know our patterns intellectually. Together, we’ll explore how those patterns show up emotionally and physically, helping you develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself and create meaningful change.
You do not need to be “good” at therapy or know exactly what to say. We will move at a pace that feels supportive, with curiosity and compassion guiding the process.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Our work begins by building a foundation of safety, trust, and collaboration. We’ll explore your history, current challenges, and the patterns that brought you to therapy while identifying what you hope to create moving forward.
As we work together, we may use conversation, creative expression, mindfulness, movement, and body-based awareness to help you better understand your experiences and access parts of yourself that may have been overlooked or disconnected. We’ll work toward greater self-trust, emotional flexibility, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of authenticity.
If you’re ready to explore a different relationship with yourself and begin moving beyond survival patterns, I invite you to connect with me. I’d be honored to support you in this process.

Katarina is hands down the best therapist I have talked in over ten years and a dozen different practices. She is an excellent listener, and adeptly balances compassion with helpful advice that I’ve actually been able to implement in my life. Where most therapists will have days where their focus seems to fluctuate, Katarina is always present and engaged. I am not sure where I would be without her. 10/10, highly recommend to anyone who has left therapy wondering if it’s worth it. She is worth it.

Kat is an exceptional therapist who allows her clients to bring their whole selves to each session. She is genuine and incredibly compassionate in her approach and makes sure to fully be present to understand her clients through every phase of their journey. She is a great listener and instantly put me at ease from the start. Her background also helped me implement new techniques into my mental health practices and really encouraged me to tune into my body more and I’ll forever be grateful for that. I would recommend Kat to all those looking for a thoughtful and caring therapist!

Kat was able to help me at a time that I needed it the most. She is incredibly warm and compassionate and I felt accepted by her right away. As a member of the LGBT+ community I was worried that finding a therapist would be difficult, but Kat is a phenomenal ally and advocate for people like me. Kat helped me learn new coping skills as I processed a severe trauma and big life changes. I would highly recommend having Kat as your therapist. If you're looking for a warm, kind, and inclusive person to help you find your way, she's the one!

Wow. I've worked with a few different therapists throughout the past decade and Kat is truly exceptional at what she does. I feel incredibly seen, heard, and supported through our work together. It's rare that another individual possesses such a balance of curiosity, attunement, intellect, professionalism, and empathy (amongst many other things I've noticed). To say I am grateful to have her as my therapist does not do justice how I feel. Every session we've had so far, I've taken notes from her insight, feel they are very relevant, relatable, and practical for me to integrate and sometimes take action on. She remembers the key details and is able to bring things around full circle during the sessions we have together, witnessing my growth, and encouraging me to celebrate the small wins along the way. I feel so encouraged to keep "doing the work". Blessings. Thank you so much!

Working with Kat has been a very positive experience. She is very kind and gentle in her in therapy sessions, but also encourages growth and has challenged the way I think and act. She is extremely knowledgeable about many types of therapeutic disciplines and is flexible and willing to try many techniques. I find Kat very easy to talk to. She also made it clear from the start that if something wasn't working for me that she wanted me to tell her so we could collaborate on sessions and be in partnership on the best approaches.

Before starting therapy, I struggled with mental health issues that were affecting my work life, home life, and relationships. I was nervous to start therapy because I didn't think anyone would truly understand what I was going through. To my surprise, Kat was exactly the therapist I needed to help me on this healing journey. She is so empathic and makes me feel understood every time we meet. She has helped me so much and I couldn't be more grateful to have found her. 10/10 would recommend seeing Kat as your therapist.
