Hi there, I'm Kathryn! My name is Dr. Kathryn Eklund and I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist. I specialize in trauma and offer evidence-based treatments for PTSD, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. I offer reliable and valid tools and treatments to heal. I offer individualized treatment plans and meet clients where they are in order to tailor care and treatment to their needs. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on the individual needs of my clients. All my approaches are evidence-based and collaborative in order to allow my clients to have effective and individualized treatment plans. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy with my clients to address current symptoms and distress with CBT and help them gain a fuller understanding of their patterns through Psychodynamic work. My focus My style and approach are a good fit for adults who struggle with trauma, both childhood and adult. Additionally, substance use typically goes hand and hand with coping with trauma and I am comfortable in treating these dual diagnoses. I work with my clients to develop effective coping strategies that allow them the opportunity to engage in the trauma and truly heal. Behavioral health conditions are not a death sentence - or a life sentence. Clients can and do heal, every day. My communication style My communication style is warm, affirming, and direct. I listen, nonjudgmentally, and challenge my clients to think about things from different perspectives. I want my clients to feel comfortable speaking with me as the hallmark of therapeutic success is the relationship clients have with their providers.
