“My experience with Katy has been phenomenal. I had never been in therapy before - Katy was very supportive in helping me look at patterns I had not identified before and helping me feel some deep feelings that I had been afraid to feel. I feel so much better after 6 months of working together. ”

Getting to know Katlyn Haney

Please note that I am an out-of-network provider with all insurances. What should a new client know about working with you?

Katy works with individuals and couples navigating the complexities of being human and in relationship with others—individuals who are feeling stuck, unfulfilled, anxious, depressed, lonely, or losing purpose and meaning; those who struggle with obsessive thinking, substance use, eating disorders, sexual issues, and traumatic experiences. Katy practices in a psychodynamic and psychoanalytically informed way, believing that it is through the therapy relationship that we can understand ourselves more fully and heal. She views therapy as relational and invites her patients to talk about everything from ordinary moments to deeply personal ones.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Additionally, as a social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from City University of New York, Hunter College, Katy practices in an anti-oppressive way and is attuned to how society and its systems impact the way we see ourselves and show up in relationships, work, and life. Katy is LGBTQIA+ affirming and welcomes clients exploring sex, sexuality, and identity.

Katy is amazing. I had such a hard time finding a therapist who is a good fit, but she made me feel comfortable and validated right away. The questions she asks me help me to see things in a new light. I also appreciate that she doesn’t take a behavioral approach, which is what I’ve experienced with previous therapists. I feel much more connected to her and seen as a complex human being.
My experience with Katy has been one of the best i’ve had with a therapist. She’s created a space where I feel safe to process through challenging emotions, which is not easy to do.
Katy is an excellent therapist who really helped me during a very difficult time in my life. She is empathetic, easy to talk to, and really helped to challenge me which allowed me to grow. Definitely recommend her if you’re in search of a therapist!
