What should a new client know about working with you?

DISCLAIMER: We are not accepting Medicare or Medicaid plans at this time. I came to counseling out of a desire to support others in their personal growth and well-being. My background as an educator shaped my appreciation for the ways people learn, develop, and face life’s challenges, and that perspective still influences my work as a counselor, where I value curiosity and meeting each person where they are. I bring warmth, intentionality, and an interest in understanding each patient’s story, recognizing that every person has their own strengths, experiences, and capacity for growth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe healing and growth happen through connection and self-understanding. This strengths-based approach guides my care, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and mindfulness-based strategies. Together, these help you build self-awareness and develop practical coping skills. If you wish, I also welcome faith and spirituality into therapy in a way that honors your beliefs and values. I want you to have a space where you can show up as you are, feel comfortable being honest, and explore your experiences without judgment, at your own pace. Balancing compassion with gentle encouragement, I help you recognize your strengths while making room for the areas where you want to grow. Whether we are processing difficult emotions, exploring patterns, or working toward personal goals, each session starts with an openness to understanding your unique perspective. You don’t have to have everything figured out to begin, and we can work together to work out what comes next.
