Getting to know Keith Huffman

Hello, I'm Keith. I received my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University and have been practicing since 1998. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Virginia Board of Counseling, I bring a wealth of experience to my practice. My counseling journey has taken me through various settings, including In-Home Counseling, Hospital Assessments, School-Based Counseling, Crisis Work, and Outpatient Services. Over the years, I've worked with clients dealing with Depression, Anxiety, Divorce Mediation, Visitation and Custody issues, ADHD management, Autism, Grief/Loss, and Life Coaching techniques. I take a client-centered approach to counseling, guiding you to define and refine your therapeutic goals. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy, but I also draw from other counseling disciplines when needed to best support you. My passion for helping others started early in life, inspired by my dad who, despite being blinded in combat while serving in the Marines, became an attorney. His resilience and determination instilled in me a deep sense of compassion and empathy, which I carried into my volunteer work with youth organizations and mentor programs throughout college and graduate school. Building a relationship filled with trust and understanding is at the core of my practice. I have a strength in meeting you where you are and guiding you to where you want to be as a member of your treatment team. Change can be challenging, but I firmly believe that while an individual can make a difference, a team can make a miracle. Outside of my professional life, I remain loyal to my sports teams from Philadelphia, enjoy spending time with my three children, and have a keen interest in meteorology and storm chasing.
