Getting to know Kelly Bonebright

"Hello, I'm Kelly Bonebright. I was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, and raised in Southern California, but I've been back east since the early 90s. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over a decade of experience, I've had the privilege of working in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, intensive in-home, university, and mental health agencies. This diverse background has enriched my practice and deepened my understanding of the many ways mental health can be supported and nurtured. I graduated from Liberty University with a Ph.D. in Professional Counseling in January 2013. Since then, I've also had the opportunity to teach graduate students, sharing my knowledge in group therapy skills and individual therapy techniques. My approach to counseling is eclectic, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, reality therapy, trauma-informed therapy, and other effective emotional and behavioral therapies. This blend allows me to tailor my approach to each client's unique needs, fostering a strong and effective therapeutic relationship. I enjoy working with individuals and couples on a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, PTSD, divorce, grief and loss, spiritual identity and abuse, trauma, life transitions, adjustment disorders, mood disorders, marriage and couple counseling, and chronic mental illness. My goal is to help you achieve internal peace, focus, and adaptability to life's challenges, guiding you toward your life goals. In our sessions, you can expect a compassionate and supportive environment where your experiences and feelings are validated. Together, we'll work on developing strategies and skills that empower you to navigate life's struggles and transitions with greater ease and confidence.
