Kelly Schaffer, LCSW

Kelly Schaffer, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
Are you stuck in toxic patterns with loved ones? Are you feeling lost in important life decisions? Just wishing for a life with less overwhelm and anxiety? Change is possible, and together we can figure out how. While I incorporate various therapeutic techniques in our sessions, my approach is rooted in Solution-Focused Therapy. This method is goal-oriented, future-focused, and typically brief, often lasting between 5 to 8 sessions. Together, we’ll explore the root causes of your distress and collaborate on a clear, practical path forward. I regularly work with clients navigating complex trauma and neurodivergence, tailoring my approach through the lens of Relational Neuroscience. This means we are mindful of how your brain and nervous system have adapted to past experiences and explore ways to create new patterns that support healing. With over a decade of experience as a school social worker, I also have a particular interest in supporting parents, especially those with challenging or atypical children. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work, which has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, effective care.
