Kimberly Julien, LMSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I work with individuals who are feeling stretched thin, emotionally worn down, or disconnected from themselves as they move through meaningful life changes. Many of my clients are navigating the transition into parenthood, postpartum anxiety or depression, shifting identities, imposter syndrome, or the weight of cultural and intergenerational stress. These experiences can bring up questions about balance, belonging, and self-trust, and often feel difficult to carry alone. My work centers on creating a space where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported. Therapy with me is collaborative and culturally attuned, and I tailor our work to reflect each client’s unique experiences, values, and goals. No two paths are the same, and I honor that throughout the therapeutic process. You don’t have to navigate this chapter alone. Therapy can be a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. If you’re ready to begin this journey, I’d be honored to walk alongside you and explore whether we’re a good fit. Lets begin your healing journey together

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe my style as warm, thoughtful, and grounded. I approach therapy from a culturally focused, strengths-based perspective, meeting you where you are rather than where you think you “should” be. Our work is collaborative—you are the expert on your life, and my role is to help you explore patterns, experiences, and narratives that may be shaping how you feel today. I frequently support individuals navigating postpartum concerns, parenting challenges, major life transitions, intergenerational trauma, cultural stressors, relationship concerns, and imposter syndrome. I also work with adult children of immigrant parents who are exploring identity, responsibility, and belonging. Whether you’re feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, or simply seeking clarity and grounding, therapy is a place to slow down and reconnect with yourself in a nonjudgmental environment.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our initial sessions focus on getting to know you—your story, current challenges, strengths, and what you hope to gain from therapy. We move at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful, allowing space for reflection while building trust and safety in the process. Ongoing sessions may include exploring past experiences, family dynamics, and cultural influences, as well as developing practical tools to support emotional regulation, confidence, balance, and self-awareness. Sessions are conversational and reflective, with room for both insight and skill-building. Over time, the goal is to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and aligned with yourself as you navigate this chapter of your life.
