Psychotherapist
AZ
Hi. I am Kim Romen, the founder of Family Perspectives, LLC. I worked as a psychotherapist and crisis therapist between 1999 and 2008, and before that, I served as a mental health worker and in other capacities from 1994 to 1999. After seeing the benefits of providing therapy in clients' homes and recognizing the need for in-home therapy in the private arena, I decided to open Family Perspectives, LLC in 2007. Family Perspectives offers more than just in-home counseling; we provide options such as weekend hours, male and female therapists who can collaborate on cases if desired, and expertise with children, families, and couples. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Arizona State University. I started Family Perspectives with the idea that every person has a unique perspective, and each perspective has value. While there are times when I help clients recognize that their actions may not be healthy, much of my work involves helping clients identify and communicate their needs and process what they can do to best achieve their goals. Clients have told me they appreciate the time I take to understand them and guide them from where they are, rather than simply giving advice based on what I think is best. Others have shared that they enjoy the balance between exploring the process and receiving practical tools during sessions. Many clients say that although therapy can be challenging, they begin to feel better quickly, often even during the first session. I regularly check in with clients about their comfort level and what works best for them. Together, we set measurable goals from the start so we can track progress. If progress stalls, we review what changes might help or if the goals need to be adjusted. I am deeply committed to helping my clients meet their goals and get what they need from therapy.
