Ciao! I'm Kristel, a Board-certified Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor offering telehealth art therapy and mental health counseling to clients in Colorado. I typically work with adults (21 and older) who are seeking support with trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and life transitions, along with general support for navigating the complexities of life these days. I also often work with those who want to develop stronger boundaries, improve communication skills, and increase feelings of self-worth and self-esteem. I believe in developing authentic and trusting relationships with my clients, and I work collaboratively with them to achieve their goals. I am mindful to remain culturally aware and trauma-informed when working with others. As an art therapist and counselor, I believe in the healing qualities of art therapy and using creative materials as a tool to facilitate a deeper understanding of ourselves and our experiences. Art therapy is about using art materials as a tool to help process our emotions and experiences in an accessible and creative way. You absolutely do not need fancy art materials or any formal skills to do art therapy! If you would prefer to not use art therapy, we can definitely utilize other approaches in our work together. Typical sessions with me tend to include a combination of both art therapy and traditional talk therapy and can be tailored to your needs. I hold an MA and am a Licensed Professional Counselor, specializing in areas such as anxiety, family relationships, medical issues/physical health, multicultural/diversity issues, intimate/romantic relationships, spirituality, stress, life transitions, grief/bereavement, trauma, depression, and LGBTQIA+ support.
