Getting to know Kristen Hughes

Hello! My name is Kris, and I'm a native Arizonan who has dedicated the past 30 years to helping individuals and families navigate life's challenges. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah, and completed my MSW at New Mexico State University. As a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical, I have had the privilege of working in various settings, including home health, hospice, outpatient dialysis, forensic interviewing for children, divorce custody cases, individual, family, couples, and group therapy, as well as EMDR treatment. For the past 25 years, I have been in private practice, working with clients ranging in age from 4 years old and up. I love working with families and kids, and I have extensive experience in treating anxiety, depression, spectrum disorders, and behavioral disorders. My therapeutic philosophy centers on collaboration and empowerment. I believe that therapy is a partnership where we work together to help you become your best self. Whether you're dealing with addiction, ADHD, anger management, antisocial behavior, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, dementia, eating disorders, family relationship issues, grief, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, medical issues, military/veteran support, multicultural/diversity issues, narcissistic personality disorder, OCD, or perinatal support, I am here to provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore and grow. I don’t think it’s the providers fault most likely a system error. However I did call the number provided 6 times and left messages as I was never sent a link for video visit. They never contacted me via phone, text, or email. I’m sure the provider is lovely, but am very frustrated with this as I was looking forward to this appointment.
