Getting to know Kristen Setty

My name is Kristen. As your therapist, it is my goal to help you learn skills that will assist you in training your mind. My ideal clients are clients that are inquisitive about themselves and why they do and think the things that they do. I work with teens to adults who struggle with a variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, anger management, and trauma. I utilize techniques from Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR. When I am not at work, I enjoy time with my family, running, cooking and baking, and any activity outdoors. I graduated from Christopher Newport University with my Bachelor of Science. I then went on to earn my Master of Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University. I have worked in psychiatric hospitals, non-profit agencies, and community-based agencies in the past. Together, we will develop a plan to help you reach your goals. It is hard to ask for help and I am honored that you have considered me to help you.
