Getting to know Kristin D Charalambidis

My name is Kristin Charalambidis. I'm a licensed professional counselor based in NJ and host of the mental health podcast Out is Through: Personal Experiences and Therapy Soundbites. I hold a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Kean University. I began my work in the field interning with non-residential domestic violence counseling clients at various stages of leaving their abusive relationships-which was exactly the baptism by fire it sounds like and remains one of my most rewarding, life-changing experiences to date. I remain passionate about helping people heal from trauma. Then I spent 4 years working in co-occurring substance abuse and mental health treatment at various levels of care, with the bulk of my time spent in residential treatment. After that, I spent 2 years in the telehealth outpatient world providing counseling to individuals, youth, families, and couples in a small Medicaid-based agency before branching out on my own. I am committed to helping guide each and every one of my clients on a journey that will hopefully help free them from whatever may be weighing them down so that they can live their lives to their fullest potential. The provider is a “Licensed Professional Counselor" and their license number is 37PC00816500.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m a big believer in the human capacity for growth, change, and redemption, and I show up to sessions as my authentic, unfiltered self and strive to create an environment of unconditional positive regard, non-judgment, and emotional safety in hopes that my clients will feel comfortable and encouraged to do the same so that we can work together most optimally in service of their growth.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
