Getting to know Kristin Florez

Hello! I'm Kristin, and I'm so glad you're here. I received my BA in Psychology and MA in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs. My journey in mental health began in the public school setting, where I spent six years as a School Counselor at both the elementary and secondary levels. Working with diverse populations has given me a wealth of experience and knowledge, particularly in supporting young people and their families. I opened my practice to help people on a more personal level, and I share my office with two other counseling practices, creating a collaborative and supportive environment. I believe that everyone can benefit from having someone to process life and its challenges with, and I consider it the ultimate sign of strength to seek help when needed. My goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where you can come as you are and work towards who you want to be. I am trained in and knowledgeable about many different treatment approaches, but my practice is fluid and very much client-centered. We will work together to devise a plan that helps you reach your goals and become the person you aspire to be. I specialize in adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anxiety, children's mental/behavioral health, depression, family relationships, intimate/romantic relationships, life transitions, stress, and suicidal ideation and/or self-harming. Whether you're navigating a tough life transition, dealing with anxiety or depression, or seeking to improve your family or romantic relationships, I am here to support you.
