Psychotherapist
NY
As a licensed psychoanalyst with a Master’s in Psychoanalysis from the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis, my goal is to create a supportive and accepting environment where you can talk freely about all of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. All too often in our lives, we do not feel seen, heard, or understood by others. Those close to us often see us through the lens of who we are to them, which is not always an accurate reflection of who we really are. A therapist can be a more attuned listener because she’s genuinely interested in and curious about what you think, feel, and want. When people feel understood, they are better able to have healthier relationships and live more meaningful, satisfying lives. Above all else, I am a fellow human being. Having personally benefited from psychoanalysis, I have experienced firsthand how transformative it can be. When I say change is possible, it’s because I’ve experienced it in my own life. I trained as a psychoanalyst to provide a therapeutic emotional experience and empower others in their own lives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is flexible and collaborative. Naturally, I take a more active approach than many therapists, engaging in dialogue and providing feedback as appropriate. Since some people want a quiet listener, while others prefer a more engaging, conversational exchange, I adjust my style to what makes you most comfortable so that you get the most out of our time together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our talk therapy sessions are weekly 50 minutes sessions. The sessions are unstructured, allowing us the freedom to discuss whatever is important to you. Therapy is not just for times of crisis. In fact, coming to therapy when you are not in crisis provides a solid foundation upon which you can build lasting changes. Many clients have reported that weekly therapy is an act of self care, providing them with a space to release tension and stress as well as receive emotional nourishment.
