“I can only choose the 2 words. However, other words to describe her are definitely direct and warm and challenging. Yes, challenging. Because she does make you stop and think about yourself, and your situation and gives you more than one way to look at something and has had me look at things from a more broad perspective than what I'm used to. She is definitely an excellent therapist, and I highly recommend her anytime. Someone asked me about therapy.”

Getting to know Latisha Torres

I am a licensed clinical social worker and clinician with a strong and diverse background encompassing special education, school social work, university teaching, and public speaking. After earning my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from St. John Fisher University, I obtained my Master of Social Work degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and my Master of Special Education from the City University of New York, City College. I use my vast prior experiences combined with cognitive behavior therapy and mindfulness meditation to guide my clients through the challenges that come their way. My client sessions focus on teaching individuals to use their internal and external resources via self-inquiry and supportive counseling. I truly enjoy helping my clients in their relationships with others and assisting them in exploring ways to claim their power and live at their highest potential.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our sessions, I will listen to you and ask questions to help identify any dysfunctional thoughts or behaviors that may be causing you problems. Once we have identified these patterns, I will work with you to develop more helpful and productive thoughts and behaviors. This process may involve challenging your negative thinking patterns, teaching you new coping skills, and helping you to develop a more positive outlook on life. I will also provide you with support and encouragement as you work to make positive changes in your life. I believe that everyone has the potential to change and grow, and I am committed to helping you reach your full potential. If you are ready to make a change, I would be honored to work with you.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

I have loved every minute of My experience on the grow app and with Latisha she is encouraging, patient, and authentic. I look forward to my sessions and appreciate how user friendly the platform is
For the last five months, I have been seeing Miss Torres, and I never thought that speaking with someone would help me so much in life. She gives me ideas, she explain to me things that I don’t see or even gives me activities to finally see what I need to see. I would recommend her 1 million times. I love being able to talk to someone who remembers our previous conversation.
