Hi there, I'm Laura, a Licensed Professional Counselor with an MA in counseling. If you're struggling with feelings of stress, anxiety, depression, or just feeling stuck, I'm here to help. Experiences of emotional pain often prompt individuals to seek therapeutic support, and therapy can be a powerful tool in working through and transforming these challenges. My goal is to help you move toward a feeling of wholeness and find genuine connection with yourself and others. Through a holistic, compassionate, and collaborative approach, we will work together to heal, learn, and unlearn patterns that contribute to pain and suffering, moving towards a more fully embodied experience of life. I often incorporate mindfulness practices into our sessions to cultivate grounding, creativity, and non-judgmental, present-moment awareness. In addition to traditional talk therapy, I offer art therapy, which can utilize non-verbal forms of communication to give voice to experiences and externalize inner processes. Using metaphors, imagery, and symbols, we can make internal processes visual through the use of art materials. Art therapy can assist in clearing and opening pathways to healing and health, especially when language is not accessible or words do not do justice in expressing the lived experience. Art therapy can also aid in creative problem solving, reducing stress, creating rituals, increasing self-esteem, self-awareness, and achieving personal insight. No previous art experience is needed; in fact, individuals with little to no experience often thrive in art therapy.
