Psychotherapist
26 Court St, Ste 409, Brooklyn, NY
I am a seasoned clinician with over 15 years of experience. My work is grounded in thoughtfulness, warmth, and compassion. I began my work at a college counseling center in Pittsburgh serving young adult women whom had experienced trauma, sexual assault, and were struggling with disordered eating. Here I was trained in Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Following this, I worked at a boutique private practice in New York City for the next six years. Here I spearheaded a specialized track for adolescent and adult women suffering from trauma symptoms. I lead DBT groups teaching coping skills and offered individual and couples therapy. My understanding of trauma and grief are layered in a vast spectrum of experience, as well as advanced Trauma, Grief, and Loss training. I worked as an acute care social worker in the traumatic brain and spinal cord injury unit at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases for many years. I have acted as the director of social services and mental health expert for multiple housing organizations across New York City. I spent seven years working as a forensic social worker at the largest civil legal services agency in the country. Here, I provided psychological evaluations and testimony for undocumented individuals and asylum seekers. Jointly, I've spent nearly a decade working for international organizations, where I offer testimony, expert mental health assessments, and provide narratives for immigrant children and families seeking reunification. I graduated Summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh earning a Master's Degree in Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health. I am licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. I have advanced training in Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic Theories, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused Therapy.
