Lauren is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Bachelor’s degree in Drama and Studies in Women and Gender from the University of Virginia in 2007 and a Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in policy practice from the University of Virginia in 2009. She completed coursework at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Social Work for clinical licensure and is currently pursuing a certificate in Diversity & Inclusion Leadership through Cornell. Lauren believes in the inherent ability of people and systems to enact change, and in the worthiness of all people, respecting how that worthiness has been systemically withheld from marginalized groups. She values harnessing and respecting identity to support change and believes there is as much power in laughter as in tears. If change is the lock, empathy is the key. When not following her professional passions, she shares ridiculous memes with friends, reads good books, runs the roads of Richmond (or recovers from running injuries), and chases her two sweet girls around.
