Getting to know Lauren Knapp

I’m Lauren Knapp, a psychoanalyst practicing in person in Brooklyn, NY and virtually for video sessions. I’m guided by Relational Psychoanalytic and Jungian Depth Psychology as well as Trauma frameworks. I believe our deepest wounds hold the seeds for our most profound transformations. With respect to our complexities, I work with a balance of art and science and to help grow new parts of Self and shed what’s no longer useful. We can do this by integrating the psyche-soma connection. The relationship we have with ourselves is reflected in the choices we make (or don’t make) and how we understand the world around us. I aim to provide an atmosphere of nonjudgemental openness and resonance. Through emotional resonance we might find a way to evolve your relationship with yourself. The most meaningful healing happens in human relationship, so I attend to energetic and experiential depths. I see myself as an active participant in the alchemical process of therapeutic work. I am a certified psychoanalyst with a Masters degree in Social Work from NYU. I currently supervise training psychotherapists and am a member of the Training Faculty and Staff for the Two Year Psychoanalytic Program at Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis.
