Getting to know Leanna Dopp

Are you feeling stuck? Like you want your life to move forward or look a certain way, but you just don’t know how to get there? It’s okay! The feeling of stagnation could be due to lack of motivation, anxiety, depression, grief, loss, or low self-esteem. Feeling stuck could also result from not understanding your own needs and emotions or from relationship concerns between partners or parents and children. Whatever your concern may be, you will be okay—you just need some guidance! I love connecting with people and facilitating the discovery of healing and empowerment that leads to living a meaningful life. I want to provide you with a safe space and a listening ear to help you process your concerns and work through them. No judgment. I have experience working with teens, adults, couples, and family units as they seek understanding and healing. I enjoy working with clients through mindfulness, ACT, EFT, CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Utah, which has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to support you effectively. Feeling lost, lonely, or stuck can be sad, scary, and overwhelming. It’s time to get some help to overcome those feelings! I am confident that our time together will make you feel heard and cared for. My goal is to give you the hope, skills, and confidence you need to make your life what you want it to be. You don’t have to figure this out alone.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with individuals and couples who may struggle with anxiety, depression, difficulty in romantic or family relationships and challenges in parenting. As we get to know each other in the initial sessions, we will determine goals and explore the practices that work best for you. Most of my clients leave sessions feeling better and more hopeful with milestones to work toward in between sessions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I often use Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing in my practice. While many clients have found these approaches to be helpful, we'll explore different modalities in the first few sessions and find what works best for you. With ACT and Motivational Interviewing, we delve into mindfulness, emotions, values, energy expenditure, and how to live a meaningful life.

This was actually a lot more helpful than I expected. I was pretty skeptical about therapy, but Leanna made a big difference for me.
Leanna has been helping my son with his ADHD. I don’t know how she’s doing it, but whatever she is doing is working. When he passes all of his classes this year, I’m giving all the credit to Leanna.
My wife and I came in for some relationship counseling. Getting counseling was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. We still have challenges, but we also have tools to navigate those challenges now. I really appreciate having worked with both Leanna and her husband. They challenged us in all the right ways, while also helping us to recognize our strengths.
I thought therapy would be weird, but Leanna made me feel so comfortable. She helped me feel ok about not feeling ok all the time, if that makes sense.
Thanks for listening!
It’s so hard to find good therapists that do teletherapy. Leanna is one of the best! She taught me how to recognize how some of the thoughts that I have, that aren’t really true, affect the way I feel every day. I feel much more in control of my mood now that I can recognize the connection between my thoughts and feelings, and know how to evaluate my own thoughts.
Leanna is so kind and compassionate and extremely knowledgeable. I met with her one on one while my husband worked with Cade. We were also able to both meet with Cade to work through some issues and learn skills to help with future conflicts and issues that may arise. I’ve never had such a positive experience in counseling and can’t wait to continue to work with Leanna and Cade!
I was worried about doing therapy because I thought I would feel judged. Leanna helped me feel like I could be open and honest. It was so nice to talk to her and she has helped me so much.
My wife and I have been getting help from Leanna and Cade with some parenting challenges we’re having with one of our teens. I felt like I was almost beyond hope, thank goodness my wife found these two and convinced me to give them a chance. Somehow, they seem to know exactly what we need and they have made a tremendous difference for us. They have our deepest thanks.
