Getting to know Lenzy Leonard
I am a Haitian woman who holds a bachelor's degree majoring in psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. I recently graduated from the City University of New York, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, with a master's in Forensic Mental Health Counseling and received an Advanced Victimology Certificate. I have experience in foster care and as a licensed pharmacy technician.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My first goal is to ensure that you as my client have a safe space. I find myself using different therapeutic methods that enhance the client’s self- awareness, independence, progress with goals, etc. No two people are identical, which is why I believe one approach may benefit one individual and that same approach may not suffice for another. A few core traits that I have are easy going, empathetic, understanding and positive.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
In the first session I will complete an intake assessment to gather as much information to better assess and get to know you, your history, and what concerns have brought you to therapy and therefore set up goals. The following sessions, we will engage in talk therapy while pulling from various modalities to help you achieve your goals. Our sessions are 45 min in length on a weekly basis.
Please allow 15 minutes before the session to do the intake paperwork.
