Getting to know Leslie Cole

As a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Doctor of Ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary and Emory University, a Master’s degree from Philips University, and a Bachelor’s from Texas Tech University, I believe the counseling journey is a joint effort between the client and counselor. The objective for my clients during this journey is to create a partnership where they feel safe, free to speak their mind, and introduced to a process void of judgment and focused on overall well-being and mutual respect. Please note, if you are in crisis or if another person may be in danger, virtual therapy is not a good fit. In such cases, please call 988 to reach The National Suicide and Crisis Prevention Lifeline for immediate help.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is one of partnership with an emphasis on the utilization of techniques and interventions best suited for each client's particular needs. I focus on supportive techniques while also respectfully challenging my clients to challenge themselves. It would begin with an introductory initial session to ascertain if I am a good fit for a client's needs and personality. It is crucial that all clients are comfortable with their therapist.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Within the first session we would determine the most pressing concerns and I would offer my take on the issues. I would then offer a therapy plan focused on improving the client’s overall wellbeing and incorporate the client's desires into the plan. We would meet on a regular basis to put this plan into action and process the journey together.
