Getting to know Lia Blady

I believe in the power of self reflection. As a psychotherapist, I strive to create a safe, supportive, and judgement-free space for my clients to process their emotions and explore patterns. Through compassionate listening and thoughtful questioning, I help my clients to navigate life’s complexities, develop coping strategies, and build meaningful relationships with themselves and others. I hold a Master's in Social Work from New York University and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan. Additionally, I have completed over 50 hours of post-master's training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, an evidenced based modality used to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am committed to providing a safe and confidential space for you to explore emotions, ongoing patterns, and past experiences that may still impact you today. I have experience working with adults who are navigating stress related to major or minor life transitions, depression and anxiety, trauma and PTSD, and relationship difficulties. Whatever it is that you're going through, you don't need to go through it alone. One of my main goals as a therapist is to show up as my authentic self and to individualize our work to suit you and your unique needs. Together, we will determine how therapy can be the most helpful for you and the most supportive of your goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

After booking with me, I will contact you for a free 15-minute phone consultation. This is an opportunity to share a little bit about yourself and what's bringing you to therapy, and for me to answer any questions that you may have. After that, our initial session is an opportunity for us to discuss in more detail your goals for therapy and any current symptoms that you are experiencing. Our work together should feel supportive, grounding, and collaborative, incorporating both practical tools that you can use day to day and deep exploration into your thoughts and feelings. Please note that I do not take insurance at this time. I will provide you with a comprehensive receipt at the end of the month that you can submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement.
