Lily Anderson, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
Hi, I'm Lily, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who works with adults, adolescents, children, and couples. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem and confidence, and relationship challenges. Having worked with children for over a decade, I bring a unique perspective on the dynamics between children, parents, and siblings of all ages, and how these bonds evolve and shift over time. I work with people from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and am LGBTQ+ affirming. My goal is to help you understand your relationship to yourself, others, and the world, and make changes aligned with your goals. I take a collaborative, integrative approach, drawing from ACT, CBT, and psychodynamic therapy to explore the underlying feelings that shape your day-to-day life. I have a particular skill for helping people see things from new perspectives and uncover what they're really looking for that may currently be missing, so you can show up as your most authentic self. I hold a Master's degree from Fordham University and bring over a decade of experience supporting clients of all ages. I hope you'll come to see your own strengths and use them to grow. If you're ready to take that first step, I'd love to connect and work together toward your goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want you to know that I see therapy as a true collaboration. We work together to explore the feelings beneath the surface, the ones that quietly shape your day-to-day life, and to discover your interests, passions, and strengths along the way. Having worked with children for over a decade and with adults and couples as well, I bring a unique perspective on how our relationships and roles evolve over time. I welcome clients from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and I'm LGBTQ+ affirming. Above all, I want this to be a space where you feel understood and supported in showing up as your most authentic self.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start by getting to know each other and exploring what's bringing you in, including the feelings and patterns affecting your daily life and relationships. From there, we'll clarify your goals and I'll begin tailoring my approach to fit you. I use an integrative blend of modalities, drawing from ACT, CBT, and psychodynamic therapy depending on what serves you best. A big part of my work is helping you see things from new perspectives and uncover what you're really looking for that may feel missing right now. As we move forward, we'll check in regularly and make changes according to your goals, so the work stays centered on the life and relationships you want to build.
