Psychotherapist
MN
Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read my profile! My name is Linda Rounsville, and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota with over ten years of experience. I earned my Master of Social Work from the College of St. Scholastica. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals coping with concerns including depression, anxiety, self-esteem, stress, relationship and parenting difficulties, trauma, chronic pain, grief and loss, health concerns, and life transitions. I especially enjoy working with women navigating the transitions of midlife and later life. Changes in health, family relationships, work, retirement, or an empty nest can leave you wondering, “What does the next part of my life look like?” You may feel lonely, overwhelmed, discouraged, or disconnected from the person you used to be. Sometimes the hardest part is realizing that the future looks different from what you once imagined. So often, we spend our time carrying not only our own difficulties but also the needs and worries of those around us. Therapy offers a space dedicated just to you, a place to explore your fears, hopes, desires, and goals. Together, we can untangle how past experiences may be affecting your life today while developing greater clarity about what you want for yourself moving forward.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is compassionate, warm, and collaborative. You don't need to come to therapy knowing exactly what to say or where to begin. We'll start where you are, reflect on what you're experiencing, and work together to find new perspectives and practical ways of coping with life's challenges. Together, we'll work toward helping you adjust to what has changed without losing sight of what is still possible. That may mean strengthening relationships, adapting to health or physical limitations, discovering new interests, or finding a renewed sense of meaning and purpose in this stage of your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In your first few sessions we will work on getting a complete picture of you by conducting a diagnostic assessment. This will allow me to get to know all aspects of your life and history in order to better help come up with a treatment plan tailored just for you. After developing treatment goals, we will start working towards the you have set so you can get your needs met.
