Getting to know Lisa Heifner

One of the many things I have learned in the 16 years of practicing as a therapist is that it takes courage to reach out for support. Most of us did not learn how to manage the challenges we all face in this thing called life, and our deep-rooted negative core beliefs often get in the way of creating the life we want. I will support you with my patient and relational approach, as well as gently pushing you to make changes outside of sessions. We all want to feel accepted, and what I have witnessed in working with hundreds of clients is that once clients feel heard, it is easier to make changes. I have experience working in various settings, including community mental health, as a family therapist in an adolescent substance abuse treatment center, training and supervising novice therapists, and many other roles. I consider myself a generalist therapist, and I especially enjoy working with those who have chronic health concerns, grief, and sex therapy for individuals.
