Psychotherapist

I use practical approaches to help people discover and implement concrete steps to overcome obstacles in their lives. I'm committed to my clients seeing steady improvement in the 'problems' they come to me with. We also work to replace these 'problems' with what brings us more joy in our lives. I love working with adults, adolescents, children, and couples or families struggling with: anxiety; depression; trauma or abuse; relationship and communication problems; emotional and behavioral problems; and career issues. I’ve taught stress-management, mindfulness, suicide prevention, and conscious-relationship and life-work building to singles, couples, parents, teachers, school staff, and others for over 30 years. I integrate traditional and non-traditional forms of counseling, coaching, and healing-arts modalities. I am passionate about empowering people to become their own best expert on themselves and what it will take to improve their lives. I see myself as merely providing the roadmap and presence for people to discover the capacity within themselves to achieve all of the goals in their lives—including finding happiness within themselves and their relationships. I am trained and experienced in cutting-edge modalities of the mind-body science of 'psychoneuroimmunology' (PNI) — researched and proven to be effective in improving a wide range of life’s problems, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) — the 'gold-standard' most researched and effective form of treatment for chronic suicidal and self-harming behaviors — and Somatic Trauma Therapies, including BrainSpotting (BSP) trauma therapy (found to be 2-3 times more effective than EMDR [Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing] — previously the most effective stress and trauma therapy).
