Getting to know Luna Bajak
I am a bilingual licensed clinical social worker with twelve years of experience in the mental health and public health sectors, where psychotherapy is an integral part of my work. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, City University of New York, specializing in clinical practice with individuals and families.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My areas of specialization include anxiety, depression, life transitions, low self-esteem, relationships, substance use , trauma, body image and weight. I practice across a variety of treatment modalities* to help you gain a better understanding of yourself and find practical solutions to challenges. Together we can determine what approach best suits your individual goals and needs. I want you to feel safe, accepted, and heard.
*Modalities include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered, Psychodynamic, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Somatic/Body Integrated Therapy, and Exposure Therapy
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Our first few sessions will involve an evaluation of your needs. By the end of the evaluation, I will be able to offer you some first impressions of what our work together will include if you decide to continue with therapy. You should evaluate this information along with your own opinions about whether you feel comfortable working with me. If I believe that I am not the right therapist for you and, if so, I will give you referrals to other practitioners whom I believe are better suited to help you.
