“My partner and I worked with Lynda Marin for couple’s therapy. She is the most kind, patient, and gracious therapist we’ve ever had. She also listened intently and pushed us to be more reflective of our relationship in the most helpful ways. Because of her, we were able to become better partners to each other and are even planning on getting married. We would recommend her to anyone!”

Getting to know Lynda Marin-Santiago

With my background as a licensed psychologist in Puerto Rico and a licensed psychotherapist in New York, I provide sessions in English and Spanish to a diverse range of individuals from teens to golden age and couples. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, neurodiversity (ADHD & Autistic Spectrum Disorder), the LGBTQI+ community, gender identity and transition, monogamy and polyamory relationships, cultural identity, and the ones curious about self-exploration, redefining and adapting to challenging moments in life. Overall, I would say that my general work philosophy and approach is to work with life and the ongoing adaptation to the changes in our surroundings.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Acknowledging and normalizing our human diversity, sexual and gender expressions that have been part of life through history. Transforming the old thinking of shaming that judges bodies for their uniqueness. I am continually learning and educating myself to keep my knowledge current and connected to the changes in life, generations, environments, and culture.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My commitment to providing optimal care is creating a safe, welcoming, non-judgmental space where each person has the freedom to be him/her/themselves as a transformative empowerment journey with the secure support of an ally. An affirmative approach combining techniques like CBT, DBT, psychodynamic, body-mind connection, existential, humanistic, and multicultural approaches upon others curated to your needs, but most importantly to create a space where you feel seen and heard. I am dedicated to helping Individuals, couples, and families face their challenges to live fuller lives. I am honored to work with all genders, sexual identities, and relationship structures.
