Madeline Salerno, LCSW

Madeline Salerno, LCSW

Psychotherapist
220 9th St, Jersey City, NJ
You might look like you have it together on the outside, but internally, things feel heavy, uncertain, or harder than they “should” be. I work with women in their 20s and 30s, new and expecting mothers, and young adults navigating identity, relationships, and major life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in cycles of stress, overthinking, or self-doubt—and want practical tools and deeper understanding of themselves. Together, we slow things down. We make space to process what you’re going through, understand your patterns, and help you respond to life with more clarity and intention—not just reactivity.

Getting to know Madeline Salerno

You might look like you have it together on the outside, but internally, things feel heavy, uncertain, or harder than they “should” be. I work with women in their 20s and 30s, new and expecting mothers, and young adults navigating identity, relationships, and major life transitions. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in cycles of stress, overthinking, or self-doubt—and want practical tools and deeper understanding of themselves. Together, we slow things down. We make space to process what you’re going through, understand your patterns, and help you respond to life with more clarity and intention—not just reactivity.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I integrate evidence-based therapies like CBT and DBT with mindfulness and body-based practices. As a certified yoga teacher, I also incorporate meditation and nervous system regulation tools when helpful, especially for clients who feel stress in their bodies, not just their thoughts.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You don’t have to figure this out alone. If you’re ready to better understand yourself, feel more in control of your emotions, and create meaningful, lasting change, this work can help.

  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork

More information on payments and coverage

I am an out-of-network provider, which means I do not bill insurance directly. However, many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that can significantly reduce the cost of therapy. If your plan includes these benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement after meeting your deductible. Depending on your plan’s coinsurance, many clients are reimbursed for a portion of each session, often bringing the total cost down to a range comparable to in-network care. I provide monthly superbills that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. I’m also happy to guide you on how to check your out-of-network benefits so you have a clear understanding of your coverage. Payment is due at the time of each session and can be made via secure electronic methods.
