*Please note that at this time I do NOT accept insurance. I offer teletherapy sessions only. Are you wrestling with racing thoughts, the weight of self-doubt, grappling with the aftermath of trauma, or feeling lost in the midst of life's changes? My name is Maia, and I specialize in helping emerging adults and millennials navigate anxiety, perfectionism, low self-esteem, trauma, unfulfilling or unhealthy relationships, and life transitions. Clients frequently come to me feeling like they are "not good enough" or worrying about living up to others’ expectations. I am here to help you decrease worry and people-pleasing, and to develop trust in your own thoughts, feelings, and decision-making. In therapy, you will learn skills to manage difficult emotions, restore balance and inner peace, set boundaries, and develop real-world skills to improve your relationship with yourself and others. Placing your trust in a stranger with the most difficult and intimate parts of your life can be daunting and uncomfortable. I am committed to creating a safe and compassionate space where you feel heard, understood, and truly accepted so that you can openly explore your thoughts and emotions. My approach is rooted in empathy, genuineness, humor, and collaboration. I recognize that each journey is unique, and I tailor my approach to your specific needs and goals. I meet you where you are and help guide you in growing into the person you wish to be. I’d be honored to accompany you on this path of self-exploration and transformation. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness from New York University and earned my Bachelor’s degree from Pitzer College.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is rooted in empathy, connection, collaboration, and a deep respect for your unique journey. Together, we'll explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that promotes self-discovery and healing. I believe in the power of understanding and insight to drive positive change, and I'm committed to tailoring our sessions to meet your specific needs and goals. Therapy is not about fixing you. It's about helping you discover the strength and resilience that already exists within you. We can work towards creating a life that aligns with your values, fosters healthy relationships, and empowers you to face challenges with newfound confidence.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Upon booking, I will follow up via email and/or phone to introduce myself and ensure that we are a good fit. If we each determine that it feels like a good match, we will schedule an intake session. In the intake session we will explore your current concerns, what brought you into therapy, other relevant background/historical information, and your expectations and goals for treatment. In subsequent sessions we’ll start actively working on treatment goals.
