Getting to know Malika Latchman

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John's University, I believe that everyone needs a safe space and a trusted person to share their personal struggles. My counseling style focuses on the counselor-client relationship. Using person-centered approaches, I provide a safe environment where we, as counselor and client, develop a rapport so you feel heard and understood. Once a trusting rapport is established, I will work with you at your own pace through the stages of change to help you accomplish your goals and achieve overall wellness.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Queens College and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John’s University. During my final year at St. John’s University, I interned at the PAC Program of Queens. During my internship, I worked with clients who struggled with substance abuse, anxiety, anger management and domestic violence.
