Getting to know Mara Donadio
I help individuals experiencing a range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship problems of all kinds. My approach begins with meeting each client where they are, to create a supportive and emotionally safe space. From there, I help my clients better understand their experiences, process difficult emotions, overcome personal challenges, and to take meaningful steps in valued life directions.
I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Colombia University.
and am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of New York. My approach is tailored to each individual, drawing from a range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic psychotherapy, and mindfulness-based practices.
What should a new client know about working with you?
While we will spend much time considering and understanding the meaning and impact of your past experiences, we will also focus on the here-and-now. We will work together to address present-day problems and we will always remain focused on ensuring that you find relief from the pain and distress that brought you in.

I was really excited for this appointment as it can be difficult to find an in person therapist and Mara seemed highly qualified with great reviews. They require a phone consultation before your first session. The session you book in Zoc doc may not be the time or date available as “the system is not updated with their schedule”. And you must have a phone consultation before the first scheduled session. They also require you to participate in therapy on a weekly or more frequent basis and are not accommodating to travel/ having to cancel a session. I’m sure Mara is a great therapist, but unfortunately I would not recommend this practice and definitely not booking them through zoc doc as it doesn’t seem their systems are connected properly, and if you are looking for flexibility with your sessions this is not the practice for you.
