Margrit Kraft, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NJ
About With over 40 years of experience in private practice, I know firsthand that finding a therapist with whom you feel comfortable and connected is important. I am actively engaged and interactive in sessions, offering a collaborative, compassionate, and empathetic approach to treatment. Each person and their needs are unique, and so are the ways in which I treat them. I specialize in working with individuals and couples, focusing on communication, conflict resolution, and the mind-body connection. I help you work through various issues so you can manage whatever situation you face. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Adelphi University, providing me a strong foundation to support clients effectively. Mission My goal is to help you work through your challenges. You don’t have to suffer in silence. Vision “Mental health is not a destination but a process. It’s about how you drive, not where you are going.” Areas of Expertise Counseling I meet with individuals and couples virtually or in my office. Sessions are typically once a week for 50 minutes. I am trained to listen closely to what is said, read between the lines, and notice what is NOT said or quickly hushed. I reflect back what I heard to clarify and ensure accurate understanding. Through this process, clients hear differently what they said and can add, subtract, or clarify further. It is often difficult to express concerns when upset, anxious, worried, or sad. My Approach I work verbally with clients and am trained to watch body language: posture, facial expression, eye contact, voice quality, choking up, tearing, and spontaneous movements of hands, arms, or feet. These signs indicate something stirring inside, especially if words and gestures are not congruent.
