Getting to know Marsha Visscher

Hello, I'm Marsha, and I've been proud to call Colorado my home since 1997. I'm married and have three wonderful children. My journey into clinical social work and psychotherapy began with a longstanding curiosity about people and what drives their behavior. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing clients make positive changes in their lives and relationships through our work together. In my practice, I work with adults, seniors, and teens, specializing in areas such as anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, grief and loss, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, trauma, and other chronic conditions. I use a variety of therapeutic interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, solution-focused therapy, and insight-oriented therapy. As a generalist behavioral health therapist, I treat individual adults and adolescents, providing a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients can learn, grow, and heal. I believe in a strength-based perspective, partnering with you to build on your existing strengths and improve your resilience. Together, we will work on gaining and integrating new knowledge and insight, and developing new skills. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy giving back to my community by volunteering with the homeless population in the Denver area. I'm also actively involved in my kids' schools, particularly enjoying teaching art in a parent-run art program. For fun, I love spending time with my family, staying active through skiing and running, and I've completed three half marathons in the last few years.
